(More customer reviews)This model is newer inside than the larger, non-counter depth model RS275ACRS. I returned that model to get this one and am very glad I did.
1. This model has interior LED lights when you open the refrigerator instead of the hotter old bulbs like the 275.
2. I am somewhat compulsive about temperature control. I have two precision thermometers, one in the fridge and one in the freezer compartment. On the RS275ACRS, the temperatures were nowhere near what the external display was reporting them as. On this model, however, the refrigerator is usually within 0.2 deg F of the reported temperature (at coldest setting of 34F, thermometer reports 34.1 whereas the 275 would be all over the place, never lower than 37 or so). In the freezer, this model is rock solid at -10 F when the external display is -14 F. I consider this excellent, as most freezers can't get this low. The 275 was lucky to get to -7 F with the display at -14 F. And yes, I allowed plenty of calibration time and took multiple readings over weeks. So, in my testing anyway, they have definitely upgraded the innards since the 275.
3. This model has the icemaker on the freezer door, not hogging the upper shelves of the freezer, which I love.
4. It is, obviously, slightly shallower than the RS275ACRS, but the markedly improved performance is well worth it to me.
5. Fridge very quiet.
6. External display slightly improved vs RS275ACRS.

Bosch : WTVC3500UC 27 Vision 300 Series Gas Dryer - White Review

What I like:
*The inside is nice, high quality stainless steel.
*When I use the timed standard cycle, the towels are dry and fluffy.
*The window allows my kitty to watch the spinning textiles.
*The interior light illuminates beautifully when you open the door and goes off a few seconds after you close the door. This is so nice. No sock is left behind!
*The large interior allows me to easily dry quilts, blankets and bedspreads.
What I don't like:
*The end cycle signal is SOOOO annoying!!!! When your dryer finishes it will beep, loudly
beep beep....beep beeep...
beep beep....beeep beeep
and then after a few minutes the drum is activated and starts your load tossing about for 20-30 seconds then stops and begins the whole annoying beeping sequence again...this goes on until you turn the bloody thing off.
I miss the old dryer system model that defaulted to 'off' at the end of a drying cycle, buzzed once and was done with it.
If you put a load of laundry in your dryer, right before bedtime...unless you are deaf or sleep with earplugs or have your laundry in the west wing of your large castle, you will be compelled to get up and silence that beeping beast!
*Lint filter sensitivity: the dryer will stop and start beeping at you midcycle until you check and empty the lint filter (which sometimes has hardly any lint in it). This is annoying. Again, I miss the old 70's dryers that just ran and ran until their cycle ended, regardless of their full, half full, or near empty filter.
*The moisture sensor cycles are another waste of energy in my opinion. I do not use this feature unless I want my laundry to be slightly damp at the conclusion of the drying cycle.
The moisture sensor cycles also beep beep in the noisy end of cycle pattern mentioned earlier. This hardly conserves energy in my opinion. It seems like they could have left this end of cycle siren and spin feature out of the schematic.Overall I am happy.
but:
It would be nice if we had an easy to access dial to adjust the loudness of the system signal.
I also wish we could push a button to turn on/off the moistere and lint sensor settings. This would keep our machine spinning regardless of the faulty sensors.
Alas, No more hanging towels like Wilma Flintstone, to dry over the tar pits!!! I like this dryer much more than the clothes line!

I put the rice into the strainer, hold it under the faucet, and rinse the rice well. This has been the fastest, and most convenient manner that I have found to accomplish this task.
This strainer is very well constructed,as well as being quite streamlined, and beautiful.

Bodum Presso Doublewall Stainless Steel Thermal 8 Cup Coffee Press, 34-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)I seem to be trying every coffee press on Amazon, with dismal results. After breaking _another_ glass Bodum french press, we decided to go to stainless steel. The problem is that all the stainless press pots so far have high prices, combined with quality issues, as detailed in my other reviews. Now for this one:
Okay, first, it does not come with a "3-part stainless screen" as described. Actually, it comes with a one-piece screen assembly with a silicone edge gasket and stainless screen material molded into a plastic frame. If you have an old 3-part stainless screen assembly lying around (from a broken glass Bodum, perhaps...) you can screw that on, as the threads are the same size, or just use the whole assembly, lid and all.

Personally, I don't at all appreciate plastic in my food, much less in my scalding hot coffee. There is no safe amount of plasticizer for the human body to contain, and all plastics release chemicals, most especially when heated and in contact with hot liquids. BPA is just the tip of the iceberg... YMMV, FYI, IMO, etc.
Anyway, I don't appreciate the inaccurate description, let alone the cheap, plastic construction. So this one is going back.
The body of the thing is solid, for sure, and looks to be indestructible, other than the handle, which wiggles a bit... Probably sturdy enough for careful use, but not super solid. The picture makes it look nice and smooth, but my example has a bunch of ripples at the angle between the upright section and the angled bottom. Compared to the picture online, mine looks like the "before" picture with abdominal flab.

The lid assembly is pretty bad; there's a cheaply-stamped little triangle in the lid, which mars the smooth look, and is presumably intended to indicate the direction of the plastic grill underneath that permits pouring. But that plastic bit underneath is not connected to the metal top, so they can and do rotate independently, making the stamped triangle useless. The two bits are attached by a plastic clip that also serves as the bushing for the shaft, so you could maybe disassemble it and glue the parts together. The rubbery plastic top button screws directly onto a metal shaft, and looks sure to strip out and loosen.
I'd keep it if it weren't for the plastic screen and chintzy lid, but the cellulite-like rippling on the main body isn't very attractive, either. Ah, market forces and their inexorable pressure for lower quality! My search for a solid, 100% metal, well-made large coffee press continues.

(More customer reviews)I've had one of these press pots and have used it for about 5 years. The description says it keeps coffee warm for hours. This is not quite right. It will keep it drinkable for an hour (the press pot is not double hulled like nissan thermouses). I transfer mine directly after pressing into a nissan thermous. My press pot has been used daily and it is as good as new. I don't under stand why people buy the glass one press pots. This nissan will last forever! The mesh screen does get worn, but mine is not so bad I'd replace it.

(More customer reviews)I didn't think they made these any more. I don't know why the other screen makers think that no one ever uses a skillet smaller than 10 inches. "Are you listening All-clad, Cuisipro, OXO, Amco etc?
This screen fits my 8" skillet perfectly with little overlap. I can use it on a burner with another pan next to it. It has a steel frame with an expanded metal mesh made of aluminum. It blocks splatter without trapping steam. I took a chance and bought three of these. I'm glad I did.
The screen I used for years was just like it except my old one had a plastic handle. I finally had to toss it after leaving it on a gas burner.
They also have screens in a larger size. Alegacy SS10 10 5/16" Fine Mesh Steel Splatter Screen.
I recently bought a Cuisipro Cuisipro 11.5" Splatter Guard which I gave three stars. It's too large and too expensive. The Cuisipro may be more durable, but my old screen lasted 15 years.Given a chance to do it over again, I'd buy the Alegacy product instead of the Cuisipro... Or any other of the other brand name screens.

(More customer reviews)This thing is exactly what I was looking for. Sturdy and durable (doesnt bend) with an ultra fine mesh screen. I think this is the 13 inch size (use for 12 inch skillets). It may seem that it is easy to find a splatter screen, but most of the ones out there are crap so people end up breaking them or not using them. I was looking for a good one for months, and this is the best out of the dozen or so that I looked at (including the ridiculous $50 All Clad model). Although not absolutely necessary for me, I like the added feet so that you can set this down without making a mess.
