(More customer reviews)I purchased the Tetra ReptoScreen to be placed on top of a 40 gallon breeder tank for two baby turtles. The screen is necessary over a glass top in turtles so the UVA/UVB waves can pass through the screens. It also allows a standard light bulb and lamp to be used to create a basking area for the turtles, so they can dry out. Most breeds of semi-aquatic turtles can run into problems with their shells and other diseases if they aren't given these elements. The product does the job for what it is. It fits the tank perfectly, and it allows the power cords and tubes to come out of the tank without cutting any holes in the screen. With a few other screens on the market you will have to make these holes to put the cords through.
The two lamps I use are placed directly on the screen, and they get surprisingly very hot, even with just a 40w bulb. The ReptoScreen is obviously heat resistant so despite how hot the lamps get, the screen shows no wear or damage. The only issue I have with the screen is that it seems to easily be warped. Obviously a screen isn't going to be a perfect rectangle with no give, but it leaves a little to be desired with the bow that's developed in it. If you use lamp screens or don't put the lamps directly on the screen, you may not have this issue, so it may be a mute point for some.
All in all, if you need a screen top for your tank, go ahead and order this. I'm happy with the product and it suits the needs for my aquarium. I had problems finding a screen this large in pet stores, so Amazon once again came to the rescue.

Entirely Pets personnel (Mary Ann?) was in such a hurry she did not include an address to return the first wrong hood. Then Entirely Pets delivered a Non-Hinged screen of the correct size, but I paid $25.64 not the Non-Hinged screen price of $20.64. I never received what they advertised and what the invoice read. They refunded me $12 and I have an extra wrong size hood, six weeks later..

(More customer reviews)This product is exactly what it is advertised to be. It fits perfectly over the top of my 80-gallon aquarium (used for a turtle). It's pretty light-weight so it's easy to pick up and move around when I feed/clean the tank.
My only complaint is that some smaller versions of this screen cover come with the option of a small section that you can lift for feeding, but for one this large I could only find them as a whole piece and I have to move the ENTIRE cover every time I feed my turtle.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this to go over the top of my Zilla 36x18 "Critter Cage" when the original lid screen was damaged by my cat with an overzealous sense of curiosity. He likes to lay atop and soak up the heat that was meant for my 2 Mali Uromastyx reptiles in the terrarium below. Attempts at repairing the original tank lid proved to be a waste of time as the screen would only collapse again when the cat decided it was time for another sunbathing session. A lid this size was extremely hard to find, that is until I went to Amazon.com. When I did find it, I was still a bit nervous it would not fit my "Critter Cage" becasue of it's unique "slide-front" lid design. I'm happy to report that not only does it fit like a glove, but it also holds the weight of my buff kitty in search of a tan! Problem solved!
