(More customer reviews)To all those who are considering buying this product: DON'T! When my order arrived, the box was made of flimsy cardboard and was falling apart. The delivery man had a hard time getting the box out of his truck, as one end of the box had come open, and boards were already sliding out. When we opened the box up, we discovered that 2 boards were seriously scratched, and 4 boards had broken completely.
Of course I refused the offer, and when the delivery man tried to get the box back onto his cart, it fell apart completely, and he had to carry the boards back to his truck a few pieces at a time.
The long and the short of it is that they don't package this product well enough to survive the shipping process. Do your pocketbook a favor, and find another entertainment center. You'll be glad you did in the long run when you get to keep it for many years, instead of tossing it out when it disintegrates.
Update: Nearly two months later, I'm still waiting for a refund for this purchase!

Furnitech 62 inch Transitional console. (Wenge Finish) Review

(More customer reviews)We got this console because it had plenty of spaces for the audio and visual equipment that we owned for home theater. A BIG plus is it's height, putting the flatscreen up higher for better viewing.
It took a while for the delivery, probably had to get a fully loaded truck to ship it from N. Carolina to IN. However, the delivery men brought it inside the house, assembled the drawer/door handles for us and offered to put it wherever we wanted it. We had only expected them to bring it inside the front door. Delivery was on a Saturday. We appreciated the service, as this console is HEAVY, nearly 200 pounds! It was wide enough for our 58" plasma, but a 65" could also be placed on it as well.
The center channel space was perfect for placing our center channel speaker as well as the Blu-Ray player and a CD player. The lower side shelves held the receiver, VCR, and other items nicely. You have to load the shelf items from the rear of the console as the door hinges would interfere from putting them in from the front. The back panels slip out and have holes for running the wires out the back of the console.
One drawback is that the glass windows are somewhat small and the full width of the receiver cannot be fully seen thru the window. The volume has to be adjusted "by ear" rather than viewing the indicator on the volume control. Otherwise, all other functions are visible.
This console comes in two colors, a light wood and Wenge. We ordered the Wenge and it is very dark, In a normally lit room, it nearly looks black, but you can tell it has a tinge of red to it, like dark mahogony. It blends with our other furniture nicely.
Overall, we are pleased with this purchase. This is a real piece of furniture, not a "slap it together" laminate product. And it looks it too, very nice quality console!

It was also very well packed - nothing could have hurt this thing during shipping. Our only complaint is that the storage space is not well laid out for DVDs (while VHS tapes fit perfectly). Also the pull out racks are spaced for CDs (again I was hoping these would be useful for DVDs). Still it is very well made and looks beautiful in our house.

(More customer reviews)From the photos the design is stylish and the other reviews are good. The box arrived damaged by the shipper, no fault of the seller. Upon opening I found that the packaging had protected the product. Evaluation of the parts: Individual parts are not identified so the builder must match diagrams in the instructions to the real part. (It would be easy for the MFG to apply stickers with the part numbers but they don't) Every piece with the exception of 2 "stabilizers" is made of particle board or MDF. No laminated real wood surfaces here just printed color. The Console is very heavy due to the materials used, this does not equate to quality just weight. I want to return the item but the shipping cost and restocking fees are too expensive. Next time I will go to the big furniture in a box store from Sweden where I can examine the product first hand and enjoy some Swedish Meatballs in the cafeteria.

I was initially skeptical about purchasing it because the size of my television was larger than size specified for the dimensions of unit. Fortunately, I am glad that I decided to go with it anyways. I have a 65 inch plasma TV and it fits very nicely on this stand with only minor overhang from the back (which you cannot even see). It also supports the weight of the TV very well. The distinct design is definitely a plus and the cable management (none of the cables and cords are visible) is great. The white gloss has a very clean look and the inner shelves (which are black gloss) blend nicely with my audio/video/game components. Aside from the slightly tricky construction, this stand is a winner. The price at Amazon with free shipping was nice too. I highly recommend this stand!

Again I have to say I loved this unit!! With that being said a year and 1/2 later I have to get rid of it! Ugh!! Now I have wasted my money, the doors don't open or close properly because they can't handle the weight of the dvd's, so if you're planning on buying this unit, DON'T put dvd's in the doors!! The other reason for my complaint is because the product is NOT made of real wood. When you now look at the front of my unit, it sags on either side of the middle leg! it has actual curves on the unit :( Even the top piece looks warped and I put the correct size TV on it...so please keep looking I know the unit looks nice, but it's not worth the money!!

(More customer reviews)It kills me not to give this beautiful entertainment center 5 stars but hopefully I can explain well why I personally can not.
Starting with the positives, one of the wonderful things about this particular console is that you really can't tell it isn't real wood. (That is unless you look at the back of the stand which has the unfinished sides of the thick particle board). The cherry color is beautiful and the unit is very heavy and stable. So it certainly doesn't feel or look like you have a cheap piece of furniture holding your expensive entertainment electronics. The handles on the doors have a very nice rhinestone detail which to me adds a subtle touch of class. There is also plenty of storage for DVDs, VHS's etc. inside the cabinet doors and the main console as seen in the photos. The doors have a magnet on them so they stay closed properly. There are 5 legs supporting this unit which is really nice considering the amount of weight most people will probably have sitting on/in it. The 5th leg is in the center of the console which really helps add stability and that's a design touch many manufacturers will overlook. A real bonus is that the legs are adjustable for those of us with floors which are not level. I have this problem and it has been necessary to adjust the legs several times once the unit settles into the floor. It is critical that you get the level just right because this console will bow a bit at the bottom and the cabinet doors will not shut properly if it isn't leveled perfectly.
There are a few negatives though that really disappointed me and made my rating 4 stars instead of 5. The biggest negative is that parts were missing from the box! I am unsure of why this happened but unfortunately based on other reviews I have read, I am not the only one who has dealt with that very issue. For me the parts that were missing were all of the back pieces (sliding doors, etc.) I have not contacted the company about this yet but will soon so I can't comment as of now about their customer service. Another major drawback were the assembly instructions. They were awful! Most furniture manufacturers will label pieces with letters and then incorporate those letters into the instructions so it is clear what goes where. They did not do this. In fact, the instructions were so terrible that what I actually wound up doing was looking at the picture of the finished product here on Amazon and then laid the pieces out in front of me and visualized what it was supposed to look like. Once I did that, the assembly went smoothly. But trying to figure it out based on what they had shown was not working out. So I highly recommend if you buy this piece of furniture that you have good patience because there are quite a few pieces to put together. The other negative was that not all of the pieces included were the cherry wood color - some of them are black instead. The shelves both inside the cabinet door and the main unit shelves are the black pieces. The shelves going down the center of the unit where your DVD player, DVR etc. would be however are cherry wood color. I don't know why those other pieces don't match in color but since you can't tell by looking at the pictures here on Amazon, I just thought I would mention that in case it would bother someone enough not to purchase it. (I assume they're all like this and it wasn't just myself who got mixed pieces although I can't be sure of that since some parts were missing afterall)
A couple other things I'd like to mention that could be helpful to those of you who purchase this is that I recommend having an automatic battery operated screwdriver and a 5/32 inch alan wrench. There are a lot of screws involved for this assembly so your hand would get tired if you don't have some form of power screwdriver. You could probably get by without the alan wrench if you didn't have one but it did come in handy.
So overall, I do love this console and I would buy it again and recommend it to you. I just hope that all of your parts come in the box and you are able to easily figure out the assembly. I also sincerely hope this review helps you! Any questions about it - feel free to leave a comment. **I must say that if you are able to, I highly recommend purchasing the Amazon Prime membership. Other sellers were charging almost $200 to ship this console because it is very heavy (well over 75 pounds I believe) but Amazon Prime members can get any item shipped for either $3.99 overnight shipping or free 2 day service. I've had this membership for quite awhile and it is wonderful! Can't recommend it highly enough**

Bush Furniture Riverwood TV Stand Review

(More customer reviews)This TV stand arrived about 2 weeks after I ordered it and I began to assemble it. It took about 6 hours by myself - you have to assemble EVERYTHING. It came with everything except some dowels needed for assembly, so I went out to a local hardware store and bought some instead of waiting to call the company and have them shipped out. That was my main problem with the unit. Assembly was fairly easy and everything fit together nice.
The Quality is decent but I expected more. The smell is strong but hopefully that will go away soon. Some of the wood had small chips and imperfections in the paint, but it is barely noticeable once put together. It is very heavy and sturdy enough to hold my old 32" projection tv without a problem. Overall I am satisfied but would probably go with another manufacturer next time.

(More customer reviews)Overall I would rate this very good unit. Putting it together actually was a breeze; the instructions were easy to follow and everything fit tightly. I didn't have the problem others had with drawers not fitting tightly and such. The only problem I have with the unit is the shipping: first I was not notified by email it had arrived (as I often get with ebay) so it may have sit at the appartment office for a couple extra days. The second is the top had incurred damage but it was towards the back so my TV will cover most of it - so I guess they could put more padding especially around the top since that is most visable.

(More customer reviews)I wasn't sure what to expect when I got this pair of stands and I was pleasantly surprised when I received them. The base is a heavy cut-steel plate with a textured semi-gloss finish that seems to be baked on.The top plate is similar in material, but smaller (6"x6"). The main support shaft is made from "extruded aluminum" but very heavy and thick; also with a smooth powder-coated finish.
It comes with very minimal instructions but is simple to assemble with a phillips-head screwdriver. Cables can be run down the back of the support shaft in a groove shaped into the aluminum and through a hole in the base plate to beneath the stand. The kit includes two sets of adjustable feet: 4 sharp points and 4 rounded feet that are essentially carriage bolts turned upside-down.
There is a 1/2" dia. hole in the top plate that allows access to the inside of the support shaft. I suspect this is for filling the stand with sand or lead shot using a simple funnel. It looks like sand might leak out from between the base plate and support shaft but lead shot should work very well.
I whole-heartedly recommend this product and have a feeling other Plateau products would also be of similar quality.

The major + for the stand is
1. It has space for 5 boxes (as in DVR, DVD Player, Gaming Console, Home Theater Receiver) and 4 of these are covered by glass preventing build up of dust and also allowing remote access.
2. Its pretty solid and can with stand a good heavy TV.
3. It has a draw to store extra cables and CD/DVDs and that clutter is not visible on the outside.
4. Easy to assemble. Dont need any fancy tools.
The negatives.
1. The whole thing is very heavy. Close to 100 lbs. So moving the package around and unpacking can be quite a task. Make sure you assemble this quite close to where you want it placed.
2. It takes about 3-4 hours to put it together.

Bell'O PR-32 Classic Style Wood Entertainment Cabinet (Espresso) Review

(More customer reviews)The Bell'O PR-32 is generally well built, with a few rough edges. It is a very solid piece of furniture (shipping weight was over 200 lbs), and generally well thought-out. It also looks very nice.
There are some rough edges, however. The shelving in the main cabinet only has 3 possible positions; the highest position did not leave enough clearance below the removable shelf for my receiver (a Yamaha RX-V663). As a result, I could only fit three components in the main cabinet rather than the expected four.
Second, pay attention to the depth of your center channel speaker. A vertical member splits the upper shelf in half, with only 8" depth clearance in front. This is mentioned in the item description, but be forewarned that if you have a component system with a good-quality center channel it probably will not fit in the space provided (I have a Paradigm CC-190, which is about 9.5" deep - and this is the smallest component center channel made by Paradigm). Also, the 7" height of the center channel shelf does not take into account a bezel present on the front side of the shelf. You can still fit a 7"-high speaker, but you have to slide it in from the back of the unit (a task complicated by the central support member).
Finally, the pull-out shelves do not slide all the way out. This means there are several inches of wasted space, where it is very difficult to insert and remove DVDs.
On the positive side, each of the pull-out shelves has an adjustable bookend so you don't have to worry about DVDs falling over if you don't fill the shelf; the shelves are also large enough to accept slightly oversize DVD cases (like the Pink Panther Box Set). The unit arrived with the glass door panels already installed, and I have had no issues controlling components with the doors shut. Ventilation slots are cut into the base of the unit, as well as the removable shelves and the removable back panels. So far this has provided adequate ventilation for my receiver and PS3, something that could be an issue for many lower-end cabinets that make no provisions for ventilation.
Overall this is a very nice, sturdily-built media cabinet at a reasonable price. However, you may want to look elsewhere if you have a component home theater/audio system.
