****EDIT: DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR!! I want to change my rating to 1 star after speaking with customer "service." Customer service at Westinghouse was no help. I argued with them on two separate occasions and got 2 separate stories. First time they said they were aware of the problem and have "sent it to corporate for resolution" - HOGWASH. The second time they tried to tell me it was a problem with my computer, and the CSR tried to tell me that these were not shipped with HDMI - DVI cables- HOGWASH.
High speed (category 2) HDMI cables are supposed to be able to handle resolutions above 1080. I purchased one of these cables and it still will not display 1920 x 1200. This is clearly a problem with the monitor. I have checked my video card and tested it, and it is capable of displaying that resolution.

- Good size to price ratio

Cons:
- No DVI input. It has an HDMI but the native resolution is 1920 x 1200 and the HDMI cannot go past 1920 x 1080.
Therefore the HDMI cannot be used with a computer, unless you are okay with sub par picture. If you know what a LCD monitor looks like using non-native resolution, then that's it. I have not tried it with an HDTV signal yet. When I do I will update.
- I changed to the D-sub input for my computer and going back to analog is difficult. The text is not crisp and it is just overall disappointing having such a large screen but being restricted to a sub-par analog picture.
- The specs claim it has a 2ms GTG response time but I find this to be hogwash. My other monitor is 2ms and it has no ghosting that I can see. This monitor has horrible ghosting effects clearly evident when you move the cursor.
-The control buttons are on the side of the monitor and do not have any labels indicating which button does what unless you stretch your head around to the side of the monitor and look at the little icons imprinted on the button itself. The buttons are black so unless you get a flashlight you won't be able to make heads or tails of it. Minor issue, but I thought I would bring it up.
- The stand is flimsy and does not rotate or move up and down, all it does is tilt and it is not very good at that either.
Other thoughts: I would have given this monitor a 2 star review had it not been so cheap. The third star is only because of the price. I did not know that the DVI to HDMI connection could not use the native resolution of the monitor,this is my fault for not knowing enough about HDMI before buying. But for heaven's sake, if you are going to put a HDMI input on the monitor then make 1080 the native resolution so it looks halfway decent!
If all you need is screen real estate then this is a good buy but if you want a quality digital picture then look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)I first experienced ScreenKleen wipes at work, where they were provided in order to clean our work screens. I loved them from the first time I used them. They're completely non-abrasive, as well as alcohol free, so I never worry about messing up my expensive LED or LCD screens with them, and I love that they come in wet-dry pairs, so you can carefully dry the screen after cleaning. This prevents any streaking or residue of any kind!
The packaging is done very well, with each wet-dry pair being pretty sturdily attached, but the perforation is good enough that they're also easy to separate for use. The package itself is designed to handle long storage without drying out the wet-wipes.
They're not very expensive, and assuming you're careful with your monitors, you shouldn't have to use them very often anyway. But when your screen is dirty, you don't want to risk alcoholic cleansers or normal cloths/paper towels. Protect your investment and use ScreenKleen! You won't regret it. =)

Westinghouse LVM-42W2 42-Inch 1080p LCD Video Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)Ok I was going to write a long story about how I got here but who really cares.
The bottom line is this unit completely rocks. I compared it to the Sony SXRDs and the JVC 1080P ILAs - both are 1080P displays but will not accept a 1080P signal. The picture is incredible - truely like an 8 megapixel photo in HD. Even Home Theater Mag rated its performace (96) higher than the Sony (94), JVC (92) and all the DLP (< 90) units in its 2/2006 HDTV face off. But remember its a monitor not a TV so you'll need to either have a cable box, sat receiver, computer or external tuner. Actually this is one monitor which you can hook everything up to since it has 5 HD inputs. I've only found one weakness - sometimes when switching between sources it sometimes looses sinc and goes pink - but its easily fixed by switching again to another source and back.

(More customer reviews)Look closely at the pictures, the product is very good quality but it needs to be stated that the 110V side only works with a deep style wire box and the A/V side will not work with any box. So to mount this item to the wall correctly, the installer needs to use a deep wall box for the electrical side and ten take a open frame style style mount for the A/V side. Such an animal does not exist, so the best you can do will be to take a double gang deep wire box and cut away most of the back side on the A/V side. Definitely a headache maker.
But the benefits of eliminating 4 connections and 2 extra wires per connection more than make up for the headache once it had been figured out. Otherwise, it looks good and the piece is actually pretty good quality.

(More customer reviews)We read numerous reviews on other sites for this item, with a fair percentage being somewhat negative. Reading between the lines, I guessed that these were from people who were either in a hurry, incapable of following directions, or had unrealistic expectations. We gambled, and ordered this product. It arrived in a timely manner, in two large boxes. All the parts were in great condition. It took about two hours to assemble, while watching Austin Powers during the assembly process (a distraction, to say the least.) My fiancee helped me several times, setting the top on, holding the doors in place while I attached them, and so on...it was definitely easier with a second set of hands for these phases of the assembly. I took my time, making sure to use a small blanket to protect the face, while turning it on its top and sides during assembly. Although there were a LOT of parts, I was short only one screw (attaches one of the metal plates on the door for the magnetic catch.) I was able to substitute with one I had around the house. For those who complained that your floor has to be perfectly level, otherwise it doesn't assemble squarely, I wonder if they were aware that the legs have adjustable feet on them? Our house is over 100 years old, and is anything but level, and by adjusting the feet, the stand is perfectly level, and solidly stable. All in all, for the price, this piece represents an excellent value. It is in no way heirloom quality, and obviously, for the price, it won't be. Once assembled, it does look nice. It fits our 52" LCD perfectly, with a little room on each side. The center has enough room for a DVD player, a home theater receiver, a cable box, and the center channel speaker. The only small drawback, is that it is a little short on depth for all the cables behind the electronics. We wanted something not too deep, so we are happy with it, but it is difficult to get the two center rear sliding panels to close all the way, with all the cables being routed through the cutouts. There is, however, room for roughly 200 DVD cases. For a laminated, particle board, assemble-it-yourself, fairly cheap TV center, you aren't going to find something a whole lot better. It looks and works great!

She had been using an old bookcase for her TV stand and had pretty limited space in her living room. I sent this to her as a house warming gift. She was THRILLED with it. When she called to say thank you, she reported "Wow, this is my only real piece of 'grown up' furniture!" She really likes the slight bowing on the sides and said that the finish is even and rich in color. She said that it gave the piece real character. She did said that it did take her a couple hours to put together but once it was together, it was very stable and was didn't have any wobble even with her heavy television on it. I'm tempted to replace my existing entertainment center with the larger version of this product after hearing her response to it. I would highly recommend it...as would she. :)

Parts fit together quite easily, and it seems sturdy.
It was packaged well and survived it's travels undamaged.
The only real surprise is the color of the glass, looking at the pictures I expected clear or perhaps frosted but what I got was a DARK black smoked color but it looks nice.
The finish had some runs but on the back side of parts where it won't be visible.
The unit assembled in a leisurely hour with only two screw drivers and the included allen wrench.
All in all I'm happy with the unit and more importantly so is my wife :-)

(More customer reviews)In researching my purchase of an inexpensive TV console, the most common complaints I read of were of items damaged in transit and of materials that were incorrectly made in the factory (pre-drilled holes not lining up correctly, missing screws, etc).
I am happy to say that my Techcraft CRE48B console had neither of these problems. It was delivered in a box that was sturdy, with exterior corner protection, and everything inside it was very well packed and protected by Styrofoam and sheets of plastic.
The exterior pieces are quite heavy and have a beautiful glossy smooth black finish which is flawless. The interior pieces are made of a lighter but sturdy particle board painted a mat black. The glass is tempered and clear and was fit perfectly in the doors. The back cover is very sturdy compressed cardboard with large openings for all the cords to fit though, and attaches with screws, not nails. I should note there is a fifth leg which projects from the middle near the back of the unit which is not visible in the product image.
It took me about 2 hours to put it together by myself, working very carefully. There were no missing pieces (and no extra pieces). The instructions are mostly images only, but all the larger pieces are labeled with stickers and the smaller pieces are represented with 1:1 scale drawings. I had no difficulty understanding the directions. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver (smaller and larger heads). Everything fit together just right and when complete it feels very solid.
Overall I am very pleased with this item, I consider it to be a very good value. The only issue I have with it is that even after adjustment, one door is just a tiny bit off level, but that's a flaw I'm willing to accept in an item in this price range.

Walker Edison Regal 4-in-1 TV Stand w. Mount - Wood Review

(More customer reviews)After spending hours looking at options for a TV stand or wall mount, I came to the decision to get a TV stand with a mount built in (because I live in an apartment). This is without a doubt the best choice in this category. It took me no more than 2 hours from the time I opened it until it was put together. The directions are pretty straightforward, even though I messed up a couple of times and had to backtrack. You can probably reduce the time it takes to build this by 50% if you have another person helping. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the 60" version over the 42" one. It is definitely worth the extra money. My 50" flat screen goes perfect with this stand.
Here are the pros:
- The parts were very well packed
- Looks sturdy, quality material. This should last me my entire lifetime...
- Simple, easy to follow directions. Everything is labeled.
- A plethora of screws/bolts for TV mounting options (your TV is almost sure to have the correct mounting screws included)
- The mount is the best mount I've ever used. The mount is made to be very easily adjustable. It tilts vertically, as well as horizontally. It will not, however, slide side-to-side (horizontally) or up and down (vertically), but the tilting options are more than enough.
- BEAUTIFUL STAND
- Plenty of space
Cons
- I've noticed dust collecting on the glass after a few days. I have a micro fiber cloth nearby now, and I'll probably have to make it a task to wipe it down real quick once a week. Not really much of a con though.
- It may take a little trial and error to get your TV on the stand at the desired height. You can eliminate the trial and error by doing some simple measuring/guesstimation though.
- Fingerprints might be a problem for people with kids.
- Might need extra washers. They gave me the exact number of washers that I needed, and I almost lost one when I dropped it.
Other things
Make sure you have plenty of space to put it together, and set aside a couple of hours to put it together. I have the TV the highest it will go (without allowing the mount to be visible) and there is about 7-8 inches from the top layer of glass to the bottom of my TV. This allows space for a quality center channel speaker to be placed directly under the TV. Lastly, if you're looking for a home theater system to go with this stand check out EMP Tek. Their Impression series speakers (in red burl color) match this stand perfectly; They will blow any mainstream brand speakers out of the water, too.
I can't really say enough about this stand. I have gotten comments on it from every last person that's seen it. I'm very happy with my purchase.
