(More customer reviews)My husband applied this window film yesterday. The colors are rich, deep and very pretty. However, the instructions do not state that the film shrinks in the drying process. The film was cut to fit the window exactly, but while drying it began pulling away from the center. He had to then push the two pieces together to keep the match. When completely dried, the film now does not cover the entire window and there is a clear line of glass on each side. If we were forewarned about this and made proper adjustments, it would look professionally done. However, now it does not look as it should. Disappointed.

Gila RTK500 Window Film Application Tool Kit, Complete Review

(More customer reviews)I am a reasonably competent DIY'er, but as a first time window film installer it was a much more difficult job than I imagined. I installed the film on large 27" x 56" panes tightly set inside felt lined aluminum frames. Smaller sized panes in wood frames would be significantly easier. Anyway, there may be "tricks of the trade" that perhaps would have made this kit good to perfect. However, my experience suggests recommending only the purchase of the application solution. The kit's squeegee is simply a plastic edge that is a bit too hard and too sharply/narrowly rounded for the majority of the installation. If you're not reasonably careful it may scratch/tear the window film. I muddled through without incident, but for the bulk of the installation wish I had something like a rubber squeegee used to wash windows. The kit's squeegee did work well for the final smoothing along the window frames (and likely would be sufficient for small window panes), but any similarly hard, narrow and smooth edge would have sufficed. I found the kit's trim tool worthless. There is simply too little cutting blade extending from the plastic handle. The film would rub against the handle and bunch up (and then tear if you don't catch it in time). I used my utility knife.
