The only downside is that it is very see through. If you are trying to block something from view, this will not work. Also, when they say "match stick", think "toothpicks". That's the color of the bamboo and the thickness.

Also, a couple of the rods were bent that hold up the cloth divider. If I had to rate the first one I purchased it would have been a 4.5 but the second one was worth 1 start - so I am giving this product 2 stars for the inconsistency.

I put this in front of my office window to block the construction site outside and there was almost no difference. I could clearly see the men, the trucks, and all the ruckus outside. That's because the chintzy black fabric is 100% see-thru when placed in front of a sunny window, like a sheer curtain. A privacy screen with no privacy? No thanks, it's going back.

The brass color hinges are not very good quality, and leave a faily wide gap between panels. I replaced them with hardware that better fits the surrounding decor. I was expecting the "natural" pine to be unfinished (which I wanted), instead there is a less than ideal, faily clear, finish (varnish?). The piece does have a slight odor (but since it is going outside our conditioned living area I decided to keep it). I see why it is prefinished. It would be almost impossible to apply a coating to the wood without making a mess of the "paper". I just wish there was an unfinished version I could use inside the bedroom. I called the retailer to confirm the panel can be taken apart and used as bi-fold doors. These panels are very light weight, but with care it can be done using National Manufacturing Sales bi-fold door hardware kit. Doing this, you can create a similar look to Shoji panel sliding doors, at a much lower price, and have greater access to the closet space.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this on 15 December, and it arrived three days later. Impressive. The packaging was okay, with the item cushioned with styrofoam inserts lining its cardboard box. I would have appreciated a plastic wrap as well to protect from moisture, but no harm this time. The item itself is light -- much lighter than I had envisioned. The frame appears to be a wood composite or some such. The rattan-style fiber panels are thin and papery, but baring any abuse, they look that they'll hold for awhile. The wife prefers this look over a sturdier, but equally-priced IKEA offering, and I hope that this thing holds long enough to justify the $79 plus $24 shipping we invested in it.

Now it's more private, the view of the ugly building next door is entirely blocked out, and the whole room has a softer feel. Everyone who visits asks, "What's different? It looks nicer but I can't place the change." As a bonus, I can see sky above the screen, and the light in the living room flows naturally from sunrise to sunset. The only downside is that there is no way to darken the room, so there's no TV or video games during daylight hours (not a bad rule, in my book).
