(More customer reviews)For weeks I researched online and in seasonal stores to find the right shade for our screened-in porch. All the shades I found were in the $350+ range. So when I saw this shade listed on amazon for a little over $100 was nervous about the quality. But it is WONDERFUL! We love it! The quality is high-end and perfect, the mocha color looks great and it rolls up and down with ease. I was concerned about it blowing in the wind, but it comes with one clip that snaps onto the bottom of the shade (when extended) and it literally holds the entire 10ft-shade in place even with big gusts of wind. It also has two ring hooks that can be used to secure the shade from blowing in the wind -- but I haven't had to use those because the clip works perfectly.
The shade mutes the view when looking out our screen-in porch and doesn't completely block it. What I really like about the shade is that when standing in our neighbor's yard the view INTO our porch is blocked. So you can take a nice afternoon nap on your porch without the whole neighborhood watching! :-) Our porch gets direct afternoon sun which can get uncomfortably hot. I have been surprised and very pleased with how well the shade cools down the porch in the afternoon.
If I had to come up with a complaint about this shade it would only be that I wish it came in longer lengths. But the shade is such a great quality that the length is no longer an issue for us.

(More customer reviews)Shipping on this item was much faster than expected. This item is made of good quality material which I feel will stand up to the elements over time. The mounting system consists of a steel hanger that flush mounts to the mounting surface with included screws. The bottom is secured with plastic keepers on each side that snap onto the bottom of the shade. So far, it has held up to some pretty strong wind gusts without letting go. The only disappointment I had was in the color itself. Mine is "smoke". I equated this to a gray color when looking at the color swatch. It does in fact lean a little toward the brown side. Overall, I would recommend this to others and I'm planning on buying a second one for the opposite side on my porch.

Coolaroo Shade Fabric Butterfly Clips 20-Count, Black Review

(More customer reviews)Clips are easy to install. The Collaroo fabric does not "pull" away from the clips. Great look.
I did use a regular plyer to firmly set the tabs though the clip's holes until I heard them snap into place. One cravat: If you attach the clip as tightly as I did, they can not be pryed apart without breaking off the two main tabs. Good part, after removal, the fabric is still as good as ever. Lesson learned: Be sure the clips are where you want them before cramping them with plyers.

(More customer reviews)This product looks good in place and performs well, giving good shade but passing some sunlight. But, and it is a killer "but", the first indication of trouble was cracking of the butterfly ties. I wondered if bending the ties to close them in cool weather caused some sort of stress. I called the company and they sent me replacements. I put the replacements in hot water to soften them before bending, but several of the new ones failed in a few months.
The fabric has become brittle after only nine months; you can tear it with your hands or poke a hole with your finger. It is tearing at some of the attachment clips (installed every 12" per the instructions). I sent in a warranty claim and we shall see what happens.
The annoyance factor here though is the short life and the hassle of having to replace a 40' cover. I will try another brand.
Update: Easy Gardener has honored the warranty and is refunding my purchase price. The process involved sending the sales ticket and a sample of the material. Their web site says it takes several weeks and it did.

Easy Gardener 70035 Sun Screen Snap Grommets - 10-Pack Review

(More customer reviews)These grommets are for light weight sunshade like you can get at Walmart...not the heavy duty grade sunshade...I used them on both. It is very hard to get them on the heavy duty sunshade and they come apart easy. I also used them on the lighter weight sunshade material and they worked great, it is nice that they don't come apart and they don't rust when used on the light weight material.
