(More customer reviews)This canopy is awesome. We bought this, never having set anything like this up before, and had it up in 15 minutes. That's ONLY because we forgot to put the tarp on the frame BEFORE putting it all the way up. The second time we put it up, we did and it went up in less than 10 minutes. To make it even better, my 6 year old helped my husband put it up AND take it down. It's that easy. We bought extra heavy duty tent stakes and used those instead of what came with them AND got those spiral dog stakes at the dollar store and used those to hold the guy lines and that thing made it though quite the wind/rain storm. I'm in love with this thing. I look forward to using it for a very long time. They also sell side walls for it and we purchased one and it really helped keep the wind down. Very nice!

Gigatent Trek Canopy Review

(More customer reviews)I have been a multiple-times-a-year camper for close to 30 years, and have been using the standard $30 dining canopy for most of them. I decided to get the Giga Tent canopy because it said it would be tight as a drum when staked out "properly." And I suppose it might just do that, but rarely do I find myself in a perfectly flat, tree-and rock-free-campsite! So it was hardly ideal and actually less reliable than the old fashioned canopy they dis in their description. The four poles are shock corded, but they are far thinner, and flimsier, than the aluminum poles in the standard canopy. Each pole comes with just one guy line -- and that is where it fails. Because not every situation allows for precise settings of the guy lines. We wound up using additional guy lines from the old canopy that I had brought along just in case. Finally, it failed in the rain. Yes, of course, it rained, and because it was no where near "tight as a drum" because we couldn't stake it out properly, the rain actually collapsed it twice -- something that has never, ever happened with the old canopies. We were diligent in the heavy rain and did "rain duty," lifting the canopy from beneath to let the pooled water run off, but then in a light rain we were not as quick to get to the pooled areas and where the old fashioned canopies just reach a point and then the water runs off by gravity, the pooled water and gravity worked together to bring it down. I will bring it again when we camp in a few weeks, but if the forecast calls for rain I will leave it in the truck and put up old faithful.

That party day has rain and light wind. what a life saver to have this canopy.The picture on display is wrong... it has 6 legs not 4.its more durable this way. Swiss gear made its legs adjustable to different heights,which is great for putting on its canopy on the frame.Once on ,you can raise the whole unit very high over your head.The legs have push release buttons easy lock/unlock for its height.The canopy is held on to the frame by velcro,very nice.No parts to get lost.The canopy is water resistent,easy to clean,nice travel bag with a little extra room just in case you can't fold its canopy just right back inside .Swiss gear unit Can be used on cement or grass,should last a long time. Swiss gear has made a home run with this product.Just take care and not abuse it and it will last for many occacions.Instead of renting just consider this canopy and you will save money.I would not ever buy somtehing unless it shows good for my money.I love this canopy because many reviews were good,looks good for many uses,lasts a long time,well thought out on design and materials .You could buy a little cheaper product but others just don't last like swiss gear.good luck on your decision.

(More customer reviews)I bought this brand new...and it is already broken. I never even got a chance to use it! I took it out once to see how it looked..nice but very heavy!!! I mean VERY heavy! Then this week I took it out again to get ready for a craft show..and thought my husband and I could set it up to do a trial run..and pow..all these arms in the tresses were bending and then broke..one after the other. 4 total. I checked on replacement parts and it is $19 for each...and I need 4! One steel piece almost hit me in the eye as it totally snapped. I was careful setting it up! Now what am I going to do? It is made of steel. Heavy duty...I mean heavy...not sure about the duty...maybe heavy doody is more like it!
It is horrible..and i took pictures of what happened. I would like a replacement frame immediately...as I don't know what to do with the nice canvas roof/walls/etc.... I hope the company will come through...but there is no way I can even send back the broken one...it is just too heavy...no joke!

I was looking for a cheaper model but chose this one due to it's better reviews and higher quality. One word of caution though, fully collapsed the legs still stand 5 feet tall. That might be tight if you're going to cart it around in a car trunk or a back seat. I have a Jeep and no problem with it. I'm a singer/songwriter and use it for outside gigs -- it's perfect.

(More customer reviews)Maybe call me daft, which is ok, however following the 3 step directions left alot to be desired. First off why don't they ship this thing pre-assembled? Instead they ship it where you have to rig it like a sailboat main sail. After this fiasco where the cloth was all dirty from laying on the ground it took about 10 mins to get it situated where it belonged. Once we did that it was even more difficult to raise it. I know that once its rigged up that it is very easy to pop up but the initial setup was a real bear.
Ok, now its put together and every time I take it down and put it up it is truly EzUp! To be honest it can be put up by 1 person. I have seen it done several times. Its safer to have 2 people though especially if you are opening it on grass. Reason being is when you pop it up if one of the corners snag it can bend the whole frame out of whack. Take your time and you should not have any problems or break anything. Spread it apart as far as you can with your arms then push up on the cross members labeled "Push Here". Then slowly raise the sides to lock them in at the top. Then, extend the legs one peg at a time. If you do this it will pop up easily and not break anything.
It comes with a ton of accessories like side skirts, a front shade screen and more. If your on grass take the 2 mins to put the supplied spikes in the feet to hold it in place, there will be less chance it will blow over. Sofar its been up for me about 3 times in bad weather, I would not want to be out in the rain without one. Also, in blistering heat it is cooler under it due to it being white.
If your having a banner made for the front for your business like I did the dimensions are 9' 10 1/2" wide x 14" high. Its not truly 10x10, close enough for government work.

ShelterLogic 10 x 15- Feet S T Popup Canopy, White Cover Review

(More customer reviews)After purchasing several canopies and gazebo's from Lowe's which did not survive any breaze over 10 mph or rain over one inch, I decided to purchase a canopy that could be partially disassembled if a storm is forcasted to come to my backyard.
The canopy itself does need more than two people to set up since most peoples' wing span is less than the width of the canopy. It takes two people to pull it apart plus one to hold the other side still. Once the canopy is fully extended, placing the cover over it is fairly simple once you have the corner seams in the corners and the top braces in the center of the cover. Deploying the four corner legs can be done with one person. Once you have it all together, the straps on the underside of the canopy can be secured to the frame. I gave it less than five stars for the difficulty of threading the polyester straps throug the plastic buckles. If the straps was just a couple of inches longer it would be a much easier excercise.
Report from the first "frog choker" rain we had last night. I had about three inches of rain on my pool cover and found that the corners of the cover pulled through the frame. The frame appeared to be bent, but I think that the frame is OK since what I think I witnessed was the "torgue" of the frame causing the legs to 'splay" outwards. Once I placed the corners back on the frame, the legs seemed to straighten back up again. The corners are lined with velcro as are the corner poles, so a nice fit is always there. I think that the unit will survive a gust of wind as long as its protected from strong, consistent winds from any direction (people from the breadbasket states take note. :)Overall I am satisfied with the construction and fit. I don't think that the unit can be placed in a unprotected area without some wind damage. It seems to handle rain although the makers might consider placing rivets in the canopy at strategic places to drain the collected rain water.

Ez up is selling the "same product" which covers less area now for the same price as the old one. Believe me when I say that the extra foot
(19 sq ft) make a difference!
The 12 X 12 is measured at the base of the slanted legs and the new model legs slant a lot more

HOWEVER, you really do need someone with a little technical know-how to put it together. That's one of the reasons we didn't take it back down! Also, if you have a membership to a certain warehouse (think of one with a patriotic name), you can get it, with shipping included, for quite a bit less than half a grand. We have tripled the time we spent outdoors---probably more---because we can finally sit bug-free. Also, this size is big enough for a large lounge chair (chaise) and two or three regular outdoor chairs, or you could probably squeeze in a smaller wicker set. Big enough for us!

Swiss Gear 10- by 10-Foot Smart Shade Canopy Review

(More customer reviews)I attend a lot of outdoor dog agility trials during the year up here in the northeast. At dog shows it's always bring-your-own shade. I need something that is not too heavy to lug from the van, easy to setup and take down, shade me & the dogs from the sun and hold up to the elements (rain & wind).
I was replacing an old, heavy, EZ-Up after the canopy ripped and one of the release buttons "got lost" inside the leg.
I have used the Swiss Gear canopy 5 times now in intense sun, heavy rain, and LIGHT wind. It is very easy to setup and take down - love the fact that there are no steel buttons to push in (and pinch your fingers) when you are releasing the canopy downwards. The duffel bag is designed well and expands a little, making it easy to stuff the canopy back into it. (Note, like all canopies, it's still going to take 2 people to set it up and take it down.)
The coated canopy keeps the inside MUCH cooler than standard white canopies. I always use the guyouts to tiedown the canopy and stake down the legs - it has stood up well to light wind and heavy rain, but the steel frame doesn't seem sturdy enough to trust it in heavier winds. (The EZ-Up stood up well in high winds)
I think this is an excellent product for this price category. In this price range it seems to be better made and sturdier than most other "cheap" ones I see at the shows. If you don't mind looking like you're the first-aid station (the red cross) - go for it!
