The simplicity and eye catching aesthetics of the "Bello PVE-4218HG Flat Panel Audio Video System" caught my eye and ultimately sold me on this Flat Panel TV stand. I matched this black high gloss stand with my 50" Panasonic Flat panel plasma with its dark screen and black bezel to produce a stunning addition to any room.

The unit is only for standalone flat panels and has 3 separate black tempered safety glass shelves that will accommodate a number of audio video components. It is constructed of black, heavy duty, powder coated steel and when assembled, is a solid and handsome piece of furniture. The backside shelving connector also serves to help manage and hide cables and connectors. Assembly is relatively easy although the shelves are heavy enough to warrant caution in assembly.

My husband was really suprised when he went to put it together to find out that it was actually real wood. It was a little difficult to put together, I wouldnt have been able to do it myself, but I am really happy with this purchase. It made it even better to get free shipping through Amazon.com. Another great experience with Amazon.Well after having this and using it for 6 months the drawer came apart and wasnt able to be fixed. We called and ordered the replacement parts but they never showed up. My husband had to repair it himself with alternative methods. So it looks nice but the drawer is not GREAT, very cheap design.

Wide Flat Panel Credenza Review

(More customer reviews)After reading all the reviews and carefully studying the technical specification of this cabinet, I decided to order it with the intent of placing the TV on top of the stand the AV equipment in the compartments below. When I received the package, I opened the package and found an IKEA style jigsaw puzzle inside. As some of the other reviews stated there was some minor cosmetic blemishes on the parts, but nothing that would show unless you look very closely. The assembly took the better part of two hours, spending considerable time of adjusting the doors to align and create similar sized gaps at all seams.
Now, time for the big event: to actually start putting the AV equipment into the cabinet, it turns out that regular sized AV equipment does not fit in the cabinet! A reasonable person would assume that you could actually place AV equipment in a TV stand, no? Anyway, the depth will prevent a receiver to be placed in the cabinet without removing the backplane or the doors, or both. The door hinges will prevent equipment with a height of 6" or more to even be placed behind the doors, without pushing the equipment so far back that it will for sure hit the backplane.
In addition, there is no means to manage cables internally in the cabinet sideway, all cables have to be routed thru the hole in the backplane, rather than have having a means for cable route internally from left to right.
In conclusion, this product is the first really sub-par product I have run into after shopping on Amazon for ten years. It will work if you only plan to place the TV on top, and not use the cabinet for AV equipment, or if you intend to use a mini AV system, but I am questioning who is buying a large stand and planning to use a mini AV system only? It should be noted that Amazon agreed to pick this contraption up at no cost to me, so Amazon's customer service gets a significantly higher grade than this product.

(More customer reviews)I prefer a taller than the typical 24"+/- stand for my bedroom. At 30" high, its a better height for viewing my 40" LCD from the bed. The design is practical, with a wide top shelf for widescreen TVs. The narrower bottom shelves have plenty of room for gear, and you can set your subwoofer next to it without wasting extra floor space.
Aesthetically, it's a good look. Modern, but warmed by the cherry inserts. My bedroom set is turn-of-the-century, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the stand blends in.
Setup is a breeze, but be aware that the package as shipped is VERY heavy due to the thick glass shelves. Once you get the package open and separate the shelves, assembly is fast and simple.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice looking contemporary corner unit and is fairly easy to set up. Two people should be involved, because you will need an extra set of hands to turn the unit over when you are done. I had the back (narrow side) facing me for the assembly; then it's one turn back towards the corner and another turn and you're done! The reason for a 4 star rating was that the holes in the cable management bracket (on the bottom) did not exactly line up onto the screw plates on the underside of the top glass. I used a round metal file to slightly enlarge both brackets on the outside of each L-shaped bracket. Extra parts are supplied. I also used some WD-40 to lubricate the screw threads to make installing easier. All in all this is a very nice unit for the price and will compliment your HD TV.

Problems:
1. The stand itself is a bit shaky, and can only take 50lbs of weight per shelf. My Onkyo 805 receiver is 61 lbs.. I placed it on the lowest level, and crossing my finger that it works
2. With the receiver inside, the door won't close.. (problem to many, but not to me because...)
3. The door was completely broken when it arrived. The frame separated from the glass. i had to buy glue and glue the two together myself. After 2 more hours of doing that, and fiddling with it, i gave up and threw the door away. Now i have an open cabinet, with the receiver sticking out.
4. Complicated to assemble. probably the most annoying assembly i've ever done with respect to furniture.
Positives:
1. doesn't look too bad. without the door it's still useable.
Sorry Bush.. the quality control is not acceptable.

(More customer reviews)After careful comparison shopping online, we bought this unit specifically to support a new 52" Samsung flat panel LCD TV.
Bello does a great job of packing the parts, and our box arrived in excellent condition with all necessary components present and accounted for. Note that despite the minimalist structural design, this stand weighs 70 lbs., a good indication of the ruggedness of its steel frame and safety glass shelving. It's not really designed to shove around, so plan on doing final assembly on the spot you want it, as per the directions.
Assembly of the relatively few parts is fairly straightforward and should pose no problems even for novices if directions are understood and followed precisely. Note that the plate glass shelves may be too heavy for some people to handle comfortably without assistance. HOWEVER: We found that the instructions for distributing the plastic shelf support buttons among the three levels were not made sufficiently explicit. We suggest you study the illustrations and evaluate the number and locations of the total thirteen of these crucial parts BEFORE actually removing the adhesive backing and beginning to stick them in place.
Aesthetics seems to be Bello's strong suit, and we found this unit to be true to form. If anything, it looks even better than the photo when assembled and loaded. The cherry wood bezel is thin veneer but serves its purpose, lightening and softening the dark glass and steel. In our case, it blends well with major cherry living room pieces and in particular, with the Touch of Red bezel on our Samsung.
The "cable routing system"? If you're looking at the photo, then you're seeing it all: just the two horizontal slots in the back support, serving the two lower shelves. If you need or want more than this, you're on on your own. It is fine for our purposes, so I didn't deduct stars for this.
Before purchasing, ensure that the maximum recommended weight allowance for each shelf will meet your needs: top, 125 lbs.; middle, 50 lbs.; bottom, 75 lbs.
