It took a while to choose which dryer to get to go along with our LG SteamWasher (dryer purchased at Sears, washer purchased at Best Buy). We didn't feel the need for the matching steam dryer, since we have that feature with our washer. It slightly mismatches the SteamWasher, yet it doesn't "stand out" as a sore thumb. The control panel is different and the metal rim on the dryer has a bit more of a gloss finish than the SteamWasher (since they are different model designs). This isn't an issue for us, since the washer and dryer aren't on display in the kitchen area, and they are in a separate laundry room.
Other dryers I've owned before this one: Kenmore, Whirlpool and Amana (all large - super large capacity).
Household: 2 adults, 1 teen, 3 very furry Siberian Huskies as (indoor) family members.
Concerns: removing as much fur as possible, keeping clothing & linens in top condition, ability to do large loads, low noise, and perform for everyday use.
I don't LOVE the dryer like I do the SteamWasher, but I do like this dryer quite a bit. Yet, I have never loved any dryer that I've had. My main issue has been that some loads may take an extra cycle or two to completely dry. --This occurs with very large loads though. With other dryers, I've had to also run an extra drying cycle (with these type of loads; especially towels, comforters, pillows & stuffed toys). Much of this is most likely a learning curve, that I still need to work on, since I am new to front load washers & still playing with different spin settings.

Some "issues" I've read about LG electric dryers and my experience...
Lint screen - "lint screen falling appart?" My lint screen is very sturdy & I have had no issues at all with it falling apart anywhere...it is well made.
Dryer drum - "drum cracking?" I've had absolutely no signs of even minute cracking, & my dryer has gone through as many as 6+ loads in one day or 1-2 loads daily...high temp setting gets used as well. The drum isn't all metal (it's stainless steel main drum with rubber type "hands") , but it appears well made and sturdy. Our machine is also well balanced.
Dryer Sheets - "can't use dryer sheets due to it messing with sensor?" I use dryer sheets and have had no issues. One thing I have noticed though, I don't need as many dryer sheets as I use to use. Even with very large loads, 1 dryer sheet does the trick with keeping clothes static free.
Drying - "even small loads need an extra cycle?" For small loads, I have had no issues. Even larger loads of just sheets dry in one cycle. --With just making sure items are taken out of washer individually; checking so they aren't tangled or balled up (like what I'd do with any dryer)& this ensures less chance of wrinkling too. Larger loads and heavier materials, these do take a while longer to dry (extra 1-2 cycles, depending on how wet the items come out of washer too). Again, I am also learning my new front load washer spin cycles too.

With having Siberian Huskies, clothing and bedding can get quite furry (and their fur is super fly away soft!); even with regular vacuuming & husky grooming. This dryer picks up a LOT of the fur, that our washer misses (and the washer does get a good amount, and better than a top load) and sends it to the lint filter screen. This is very nice, and our LG dryer works a lot better with removing fur than any of my previous dryers. A typical small to average/normal load will be virtually fur free. Larger loads will have a little more fur, but still much, much less than our other dryers would perform.
The Cycles: 4 Sensor Dry (cotton/towels, normal, perm.press, delicates) and 4 Manual Dry (speed dry, freshen up, air dry, time dry). The 4 sensor dry cycles offer wrinkle care and damp dry options (with also ability to adjust dry level); while manual dry cycles offer the options of more time/less time and wrinkle care (as well as, the ability to adjust temperature settings & dry time).
Other features: child lock option, custom settings program option
LED digital display shows: settings, estimated drying time (and true time for manual dry settings), options & status message
Overall, this is a very nice dryer, easy to use, performs well for this family's needs and helps our clothing/linens stay in great condition. I haven't had any issues with wrinkles or any damages to clothing, linens, bedding or even stuffed toys. It's definitely not noisey while running & the beeper is loud enough for us to hear within the house (on low setting)...it plays a tune instead of an annoying BUZZ (which is another nice feature, and beeper can be disabled).
