Cheap Simple Practical Durable Good Value - 30" Japanese Shoji End Table Nightstand w/ Shelf & Drawer Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not going to lie, I was really excited when I found this item on amazon. I placed my order and waited in anticipatement for it to arrive. When it finally did, I opened the box to find a stapled shoddy piece of crap. The outside of the nightstand was fine, except for the fact the thing couldn't stand evenly. I had to put tape on the bottom to keep it from rocking. When I tried to slide in the actual drawer, the wooden inserts holding it broke off because they were stapled to the inside of the nightstand. Thats right, they were stapled. The guys at Ace Hardware told me it would be impossible to staple the pieces back into the nightstand because of the angle and risk of the staples ruining the nightstand. So I had to go and buy woodglue and line up the pieces and glue them back in place so they could hold the drawer. All in all, for the amount of money and time spent in putting this thing back together, I would honestly say spend your money on something else. I'm not trying to be negative nancy here, but seriously you can do a lot better.

Beautiful Unique Affordable Flat TV Stand - 42" Hokkaido Japanese Design Lantern Lit Console Table - 5 Colors Review

(More customer reviews)I orderered this unit for my 42" flattie. It was shipped very quickly, which was great. On its arrival, however, I made the following observations: the unit had numerous scratches (some large) and spotting on it, there were a few screws missing, the assembly was more complex than you'd think looking at the picture, and the assembly instructions were useless. While we were putting the unit together we found some of the veneer sort of flaking off and what was essentially press-board underneath. Also, when it's all set up, the electrical cord hangs straight down and is visible behind the table. We had to use some plumbers tape to conceal the cord behind the back panel or the visual beauty and concept of the table is ruined. (The product description says to use a standard bulb, but doesn't mention that any wattage over 15 or 20 might burn a hole right thru the top of the table). It would have been nice if they'd included wood plugs for the screw holes which are kind of gaping eyesores. Also, the table's weight and structure are not really enough to support the weight of a TV so we had to ground the tv to the wall with a wire to be sure the table could not fall over. THe good news? THe unit is very beautiful visually. If I weren't lazy about such things I would have returned the unit but it will suffice for now. However, I won't order any other products from this company. Even at the reduced Amazon rate, the item is way overpriced for what it turned out to be. So as I said, very pretty, but really cheesy construction.

I was a bit apprehensive about buying when there were no reviews up about it so I took a chance and felt the least I could do would be to put up a review so that any other hesitant customers may be able to see what at least one other person thought.
That being said, I love the pieces (I got 2 of the black ones). They were much higher quality than I expected for the price I paid (I got them when they were on sale for half the price). They were well-packaged and came in perfect condition less than a week after ordering. I was worried about the paper being torn but it is much sturdier than I expected. They will go perfectly with the platform bed we are also purchasing.

I haven't gotten a package with all the individual packages and labels before so it was a nice touch. It matches my Expedit bookcase from Ikea very well so I'm very happy. It's a solid and sturdy piece of furniture and I like that.

South Shore Furniture City Life Collection TV Stands Review

(More customer reviews)For over 2 months my wife and I looked EVERYWHERE to find the perfect unit to house our components since I just mounted the 40" LCD on the wall. We needed certain colors, height and width dimensions and also wanted to hide everything behind glass doors. This unit was PERFECT!
I had 2 concerns with this unit though.
1) My Harmony 880 Universal Remote (Buy one of these!!) wouldn't be able to penetrate the frosted glass.
2) Enclosing my components (most importantly the PS3 and receiver) behind doors would cause overheating.
I'm happy to report that none of my fears came true. The Harmony works through the frosted doors with ease.
I'm also happy to report that my components won't overheat. My last step in the building process was to attach the backing material to the unit. Before doing so I tried to wiggle the unit a little bit and it was rock solid. As a result I left the backing unit off so everything is open in the back.
If I was placing my TV on the stand then I probably would have installed the backing but since I don't have that weight I probably don't need the extra support.
I have nothing bad to say about this unit.
