(More customer reviews)This is a great door but don't plan to purchase one..... they are discontinued. There is NO other door on the market currently that fits this exact measurement so if you need to replace (as I did) you will most likely be looking for someone who purchased one and decided not to use it. You can still purchase an after market replacement alarm security door but it is just plastic - the security is in the "alarm" which sounds if the door is removed. As an aside, every time you set the alarm, it will go off when you remove the panel so be QUICK! It makes my dogs insane with the noise. Flaps are still available at this time for the door but I'm buying some extra just in case. What a shame PetSafe didn't replace this door with one of the same door cut size. It's silly that you would have to remove your door and make a new cut for size simply because when they bought out the company that originally made this product they discontinued it..
Having said all that, if you can find one, they are very sturdy and really are the "ultimate" door. Flaps are heavy but do not blow in with the wind. Excellent product and the best I've ever had installed - stood up to my multiple dogs going in and out all day! Even the flaps are very durable but who knows how long you will be able to replace them. In fact, I am replacing my door only because the man who installed it put it in backwards (inside framing is outside) and rather than take a chance that the framing screws are stipped, I decided to go with the one (and only) new one I could find.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this door after my cat and a neighbor's cat had a fight in the house while I was at work. I was worried the noise may be too much, based on research, but my 14 year old cat seemed to adapt to that fine. It does work. It makes a buzzing sound as the cat pushes through then buzzes once more as it locks right behind her. One important note: I am unable to comprehend why the internal wires going to the locking mechanism are uninsulated. There is no danger here, as the voltage is low, but when I first installed it two of the wires got pushed together. This caused the door to make a horrendous sound as the latch cycled several times each time the door was operated. I nearly sent the door back but then decided something must be wrong. I removed the door and noticed two of the three bare wires going to the locking mechanism had been accidently pressed together, probably on installation. It was an easy fix, but I bet a lot of people have done the same thing, then sent their door back - or just wished they had never bought it in the first place. If you make sure not to press the wires together on installation the door works good. I've had mine for about four months.

(More customer reviews)Almost 15 years ago we bought and installed this cat flap in the interior plywood-paneled door leading from our kitchen to the basement stairs. It served us very well, allowing us to keep our cats confined upstairs or downstairs, or give them free access to all of the house while keeping our young children away from the basement stairs. We are buying a replacement because a dog staying at our house clawed the cat flap frame off the door. We had confined the dog to the basement while we went out for a few hours. The dog is somewhat high-strung, so I don't think it's a reflection on the quality of the cat door that the dog destroyed it. The good news is that the plastic frame came off the door in pieces, and the door itself and the rough opening cut for the cat flap were not damaged. Replacing the cat flap should be only a matter of screwing the new frame onto the door.

(More customer reviews)I really like this cat flap. It is made with a heavy plastic that is durable. The way my cats are, I need durability. Since it is made of heavier plastic it works better with aluminum screen. The fiberglass is pretty wobbly with this cat door because it's a swinging screen door . It probably isn't a problem if it's a sliding screen. It was worth the change in the screen because the aluminum screen looks better and I have a cat door that is going to last a while.

I took a chance and bought the small pet door. It was very easy to install. My boyfriend just placed the pet door in the corner of the screen door (where she had ripped it). He snapped the two sides together through the screen. Then he cut the screen around the door. No muss, no fuss. It was installed in about 5 minutes. I had to push the cat through the pet door about three times before she learned how to use it. Since I installed this pet door there have been no more torn screens, Yeah!

Cat Mate Inc 210 Glass&Screen Door Review

(More customer reviews)First, let me say that this is a great product, BUT I recommend that you not follow the cutting template included with the door, unless you are installing the door against something solid, like glass or wood. I purchased it to install in a screen and the template is almost as big around as the door's frame itself. Because that didn't leave much to hold the frame in place, I envisioned it quickly pulling free of the screen as my 20 lb. cat's fat bum squeezed through repeatedly. Instead, I traced around the flap opening on cardboard, cut that 1/8" larger to accommodate the space needed for both halves to come together, then used that template to cut the opening in the screen. This was the perfect solution. The cat flap is now solidly in place on my screen and won't be going anywhere until I remove it myself. I installed it yesterday and the cats can't quite believe that they can now walk through a window that was previously solid. We're all happy!

(More customer reviews)These doors really do snap together, you just have to spread open the holes in the screen to fit over the tabs. If you have a metal screen, it would be difficult, but with the nylon screens it ain't no big thang. I have had several and they are easy! Then you have to gently tap the top half over the bottom with a small hammer. If you cannot take the screen out of the doorway or window frame, that would be difficult, but if you can lay the door or window on the ground, it's a snap.
These are nice and lightweight and they last.
