(More customer reviews)This timer comes with a battery to install, so you know the battery is not run down. The display is big and easy to see. The buttons are large. The timer can be set in hours (up to 19 hours) and minutes. There is a magnet on the back to attach it to the frig. The alarm is loud and you can readily hear it in a noisy kitchen. My only gripe is that the magnet on the back is a bit small and the timer is raised, so when you press the buttons, the timer moves around on the frig surface. Would buy again.

Taylor Digital Minute/Second Timer Review

(More customer reviews)The timers work fine (it's been 3 months). I bought 8 for my reading class for timed readings. The beep is not too loud, at least it doesn't seem to distract the students. I like how it counts up and down, which most timers don't have. It's also great that it counts up to 99 minutes. The Pyrex timers only count up to 20 minutes. Definitely would recommend it.

(More customer reviews)Yes, buy it. For me, it was a replacement for one of about a dozen controllers I use at my place. This is the greatest. Why didn't someone come up with this
notion of remote control for checking sprinklers before? It works. Buy it. I also bought the next larger size which is 12 stations. These two controllers are in a closet
along with a hot water heater inside my house. I keep the remotes near the side door of my garage. Each remote comes already paired with its master control timer.
On either remote, I simply push the station number, a red light on the remote comes on, and I push an 'on' button and the selected station operates. Push, 'off' and
the selected station stops working.You can work with the remote in other ways but that is all I need for checking, asjusting, and repairing sprinklers without
running back and forth to the timer station. Since I have 18 stations controlled from this one pair of control timers, I made myself a little plasticised card as a pocket reference
identifying the station number and the irrigation block that is controlled by that station number. Is there ever an instance when the communication between remote and
control timer fails? Yes, of course. Just move a little bit and do it again. Read other reviews, some of which are critical. Then, adopt a positive expectation and you
will be very pleased with your decision to purchase. Thanks to all of you who write reviews and place them on the Web. I use them extensively in my purchasing decisions about
all kinds of products. Like this controller, how did we get without this means of communication previously?

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a good basic timer and this fit the bill. It allows you to count up or down and shows time elapsed after the alarm rings (to see how much I screwed up the cookies).
One feature I was looking for but wasn't apparent from the descriptions or photos is how the back is set up. I use the magnet, not the easel and attach it to the stove hood. With some timers the magnet is on the easel and the easel comes out from the back of the timer. Then when you push the timer buttons, it rocks back and forth on the easel, and usually falls into the soup. However, this timer has has the easel flush with the back of the timer. When attached to the hood, it does not rock back and forth when pushing the buttons. Big plus in my book. Sometimes it is just the small details.

CDN Touch Screen Probe Thermometer and Timer Review

(More customer reviews)I called the company to ask which thermometer to buy. I bought this one because -
1. It does NOT have preset temps. for rare, medium, well done... (we pull red meat, medium rare at 130 degrees). I want to just set the temperature and have it beep when the temperature is reached. This thermometer does that VERY NICELY.
2. The temperature range is past 500 degrees. I figured I had less likelehood of having problems with the thing dying in a hot oven if it had a higher temp range. The last probe thermometer I bought from another company lasted one, yes one use. It took me two years to buy another and so far, it is working like a champ.
3. The thermometer has a tougher wire than most and plugs into the unit with a stereo type plug (not easy to get to). If you pull, the probe unplugs instead of breaking.
The negative - no off and on switch; in order to save batteries you have to remove the back and the batteries..
So far, it has worked really well. The probe wraps nicely around the unit for storage. The digital readout is nice and large.
I find it interesting that the price point is lower because the unit does not have preset temps - a feature that I find annoying and useless anyway. Oh, well, I happily kept my money.
Time will tell if it can stand up to the heat...

Polder 605 Big Screen Timer, Gray Review

(More customer reviews)If you had set out to create a poorly designed kitchen timer, the Polder 605 Big Screen Timer would certainly make you happy on several fronts. Made out of flimsy plastic with a large display screen and simple bold black buttons, the sleek visuals of the Polder have their initial appeal. Putting it into use you realize quickly what a perverse genius designed this device. The alarm makes a high-pitched noise that is sure to put your entire household on edge. The thing is so top-heavy that if you attach it to your refrigerator via the magnet the slightest jolt will send the unit dangling upside down like a bat. In case you do manage to perch the thing upright just so, the upside-down wedge shape of the case makes it hard to read the display at anything much below eye-level.
When you go to turn it off it immediately starts counting back up again, as in a stopwatch, without you asking it to, so you must press the start/stop button two times if you really want it to stop, and then press both time buttons to zero it. As noted in another review, you cannot set it for less than a minute so the seconds are a mystery, unless it's in stopwatch mode, in which case the seconds are displayed. On the upside, unlike any other timer I have used before, if you have it set for an hour or more it helpfully beeps at ten and five minutes before zero. And the screen is nice and big, as advertised.
I suppose if you are planning to set it on your counter top instead of using the magnet, and didn't mind its screechiness and other quirks, you might get some use out of this unassuming unit. In our home it earns its one extra star by providing some comic relief after the holidays.

(More customer reviews)I have owned 4 different sprinkler controllers and I must say that I like the Orbit 12 station touchscreen the best of all. It is really easy to use and to install. I have a 12 zone system so I am using it to it's full capacity. The manual settings are very handy and easy to use. I highly recommend it especially from Amazon because the price is right!! Only thing I would change is that it only has 2 program options. I like to use 3 options so I can have some zones water on odd days, some on even, and some every day. Small issue and I can live with it. I highly recommend!!!
