(More customer reviews)Wanting to clean off the soot that had built up over the years on our gas fireplace logs, I ran across this spray and decided to give it a try. It actually worked okay.
Rather than removing the logs from the fireplace, you simply have to heat them up for 15 minutes to get them nice and hot. Then you just spay the logs with the Tommybuilt Soot Remover. The heaviest soot immediately began to dissolve and burn away, which actually sort of surprised me. However, the ends of the ceramic logs that were not as hot and were away from the highest heat did not come very clean - couldn't really tell much difference.
But, overall I'm still quite pleased with the way this cleaner dissolved the heaviest soot and I would recommend giving it a try. It just wasn't quite as complete of a cleaning job as I had hoped.
